About GIO
PURPOSE OF GIO
Global Indian Organisation (GIO) is a secular, non-political non-partisan, non-sectarian, not-for-profit global organisation.
It is engaged in providing a common platform for NRIs, OCI’s and residents of different countries to coordinate in the domains of cultural, educational, scientific, social, economic, and community affairs and in furthering their linkage with India.
Global Engagement & Representation
GIO aims to build strong connections between the Indian diaspora, host country governments, the Government of India, and international organizations.
It works to represent, protect, and promote the legitimate interests of Indians living abroad while ensuring their voices are heard at both local and global levels.
Cultural Promotion & Community Development
The organization focuses on preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of OCIs, PIOs, and NRIs.
It encourages active participation of the diaspora in economic, social, and cultural initiatives, fostering development in India and strengthening community bonds across countries.
Networking, Collaboration & Resource Mobilization
GIO provides a global platform for interaction, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among diaspora members.
It supports the exchange of ideas, addresses common issues, forms think tanks, and mobilizes financial, professional, and intellectual resources for development projects, as well as relief and rehabilitation efforts during crises.
